Question sources: Always check who is behind a news story are they credible, biased or known for misinformation.

Look for evidence. Demand data, primary sources and verifiable facts instead of emotional appeals.

Understand bias. Recognize that all media has some bias compare coverage from multiple perspectives (left, right, international).

Learn logical fallacies. Spot manipulative techniques like strawman arguments, false dichotomies and ad hominem attacks.

Fight back with the truth

Check primary sources (official documents, speeches, raw data) instead of relying on summaries.

Avoid echo chambers. Follow reputable outlets across the spectrum (AP, Reuters, BBC, The Economist, NPR, etc.).

Follow independent journalists (who cite sources transparently) rather than just partisan commentators.

Report false content on social media (Facebook, X, YouTube have reporting options for misinformation).

Encourage scepticism by asking questions. "What’s the evidence for that?" or "Who benefits from this narrative?"
